MADISON (NBC 26) — Wisconsin's number of new coronavirus cases continues to climb upward.
Tuesday's new COVID case count was 886, the highest since mid-February. The seven-day average rose to 634.
It comes as some experts worry of another potential surge in COVID cases across the U.S.
Eight more COVID-related deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the state's death total to 6,648. The number of people ever hospitalized due to the virus rose by 72.
More than 3.1 million COVID vaccine doses have been administered in Wisconsin. About 33% of Wisconsinites have received at least one shot in the arm, while 20% of Wisconsin residents have completed the vaccine series.
