The Winnebago County Health Department is reporting a significant increase in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks.
According to the health department, cases began to quickly increase the week after the Safer at Home order was lifted. The county is reporting 301 confirmed positive cases, which is triple the number it saw three weeks ago.
Health officials say they've seen the largest jump in cases among people in their twenties.
About three weeks ago, there were 12 cases among people in their twenties in Winnebago County. Today, that number is at 110.
