OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — A walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic will open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunnyview Expo Center, located at 500 E. Highway Y, Oshkosh.

Previous coronavirus vaccine clinics in other areas have required appointments, as opposed to walking in. For this particular clinic, however, appointments are not required.

Vaccination is open to everyone aged 18 and older. The clinic will be administering the Moderna vaccine, which is a 2-dose series vaccination. Participants will need to return for a second dose on May 13th.

Health officials say you will be considered fully vaccinated 14 days following the second dose of your vaccination.

"We are continually reevaluating the best way to serve our community. We hope offering an unscheduled, walk-in clinic will allow more people an opportunity to be vaccinated," stated Doug Gieryn, Winnebago County Health Department Director/Health Officer.

While appointments aren't required, there are still appointments available throughout the day if you prefer to register for a scheduled time. Visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4ca8ad2baafdc52-april6 to register.

If you require assistance in scheduling your appointment, please call the Winnebago County Health Department’s COVID-19 Hotline at 920-232-3026, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

If you have received a vaccine within the last 14 days or have a history of an observed anaphylactic reaction to an injectable medication (if you needed epinephrine or an epi-pen after an IV or injection), do not attend this clinic.

Free transportation assistance is available to individuals in Winnebago, Outagamie and Calumet counties who need transportation or help navigating transportation options to their COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Please call Make the Ride Happen at 920-225-1719 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
