BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Health officials confirmed Tuesday a third death related to coronavirus in Brown County.

Health officials say there is no information available yet on the person who died.

Brown County now has 913 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with seven cases reported in the Oneida Nation.

35 people have been hospitalized due to the virus. About 34 to 35 people are now out of isolation.

Brown County has seen a cluster of coronavirus cases at local meat packing plants. 255 JBS employees are reported to have coronavirus. 145 employees from American Food have the virus. Brown County will no longer be reporting case numbers from Salm Partners.

Most of the cases come from community spread, health officials say. Testing for the virus will be escalated after the state provided 2,500 more testing kits. Brown County health officials say these confirmed cases are expected because they are doing more testing.

Salm Partners released a statement Tuesday afternoon:

Salm Partners has completed free, voluntary COVID-19 testing for all employees and is awaiting complete testing results before releasing any numbers of individuals infected with the virus. Over a period of several days employees were tested at two Denmark facilities. Testing was procured and underwritten by Salm Partners.

“We care deeply about the health and safety of our partners, our customers, and our community and we felt testing was the right thing to do,” said Keith Lindsey, CEO of Salm Partners. “We have been identified as an essential industry during the pandemic so maintaining the nation’s food supply is directly linked to the health of our partners.”

If anyone tests positive for the virus, that individual will be connected to health care professionals and then quarantined for the period required by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our local public health authorities. Testing results are confidential and we will not identify individuals who test positive.
