GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Three Green Bay Packers players have been added to the league's COVID-19 reserve list, according to the NFL transaction wire.

Longtime kicker Mason Crosby, tight end Jace Sternberger and defensive lineman Treyvon Hester have been added to the list.

Being placed on the COVID-19 reserve list does not necessarily mean a player has tested positive for the coronavirus. Players can also be added to the list for potential exposure to the virus, and teams are not allowed to disclose why players are added, according to ESPN.

Earlier this week, Packers wide receiver Devin Funchess became the team's first player to opt out of the 2020 NFL season due to the pandemic.

He posted his statement on Instagram saying, "My closest family members have experienced the life-threatening impact of COVID-19 first hand and for their own and my own safety, I've decided to opt-out of the upcoming NFL season. This was not a decision I took lightly but it's what is best for my family and myself at this time."
