No major spikes in coronavirus numbers as Wisconsin nears 30,000 cases

MADISON (NBC 26) -- The latest coronavirus numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services show the number of cases and negative test results changing only slightly compared to the day prior.

Thursday saw more than 12,000 negative test results and more than 530 new coronavirus cases, nearly identical to Wednesday's numbers. The percent positive rate has been curving downward since Monday.

There were seven newly reported deaths related to coronavirus on Thursday.

Wisconsin is nearing a total of 30,000 confirmed cases. At least 29,796 people total were confirmed to have coronavirus on Thursday. With that said, nearly 80% of people have recovered from the virus in Wisconsin.

In Brown County, 90% of people who had coronavirus in the county have recovered as of Thursday, according to DHS.
