No deaths reported, coronavirus cases in WI close in on 25k

MADISON (NBC 26) — Wisconsin health officials report no deaths related to the virus and another 280 new coronavirus cases confirmed Sunday afternoon.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says 6,051 people were tested and 4.6% of tests came back positive for COVID-19. As of Sunday 24,819 people in the state have tested positive for the virus.

Although the percentage is higher, Sunday's numbers are lower in comparison to the day prior. Saturday's numbers saw an increase of almost 400 new cases and 14 deaths.

State health officials say 17 more people have been hospitalized in relation to the virus, bringing the state total to 3,220 people.
