BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Salm Partners acknowledges in a statement that 10 of its employees tested positive for coronavirus.
"Out of the 500 individuals employed at the plant’s Denmark facility, 10 full time employees have been diagnosed with the coronavirus over the last three weeks," the company said in a statement.
The company said none of the employees who tested positive have been confirmed as contracting the virus while at work. Salm Partners said the employees who tested positive have been on paid leave since they felt ill from symptoms.
"In cooperation with the Brown County Health Department, leadership at Salm Partners is working to make voluntary testing available to its employees," the company's statement said. "Although it has been difficult to obtain, the company will make testing free to all employees."
This comes as a different facilityin Brown County is also dealing with employees testing positive for coronavirus. Brown County health officials confirmed Monday that the CDC is in Brown County to help with coronavirus testing for JBS workers.
Brown County health officials said Monday that there are now 292 coronavirus cases in the county. About 22 people are hospitalized.
