MADISON (NBC 26) — More than 2 million Wisconsinites have completed the COVID-19 vaccine series, according to new DHS data released Sunday. This means they are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
More than 2.5 million Wisconsin residents have received at least one shot of the vaccine as of Sunday. More than 4.4 million total doses of vaccine have been administered in the state.
The number of new coronavirus cases in Wisconsin on Sunday was lower than the past few previous days, with Sunday's number being 405. The seven-day average was 649.
About 6,839 people have died in Wisconsin due to the virus since the pandemic began.
