GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- As health workers continue to battle the coronavirus pandemic, HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and its partner, Prevea Health, announced Monday that they are now collecting cloth, handmade face masks.
In a news release, health officials stated that cloth, handmade masks cannot prevent a person from contracting coronavirus, however, they can prevent a person from touching their face and mouth, and help keep the wearer’s respiratory secretions to themselves.
HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and Prevea Health are collecting the masks between now and Friday, April 10, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., at two locations in Green Bay:
1. 2710 Executive Dr., Green Bay (Prevea/HSHS Executive Offices)
2. 1001 Porlier St., Green Bay (Across from HSHS St. Vincent Hospital)
Masks should be placed no more than 25 at a time in a sealed, Ziploc bag, and then placed in the collection bin outside of each location.
