MADISON (NBC 26) — While the number of new COVID-19 cases was once again lower than previous days, Monday's seven-day average continues to climb.
Wisconsin DHS reported 402 new cases of coronavirus Monday, which was lower than the brief spike in new cases last week, which climbed to more than 1,000.
The seven-day average was 789 on Monday, the highest since mid-February this year. That continues a trend of multiple days where the seven-day average has steadily climbed.
Wisconsin's COVID-19 death toll rose by three on Monday, bringing the total to 6,680.
Wisconsin coronavirus vaccine rate is also steadily climbing, with nearly 25% of the population fully vaccinated, according to DHS.
