OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- The coronavirus pandemic has hit home at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.

Leaders say they're seeing staffing shortages and now concentrating on core services so animals can still receive needed care and support.

"We just decided that we needed to make some changes and we're hoping that these are temporary, but we're not sure how long it's going to go on," explains Joni Geiger, the Executive Director at Oshkosh Area Humane Society.

One of those changes is a restriction on how many people can be in the building. They're asking people to only visit if they're serious about adopting.

Those interested in adopting can get information on the adoption process on the OAHS website: www.oahs.org
