Coronavirus continues to spread, Wisconsin reported 2,745 new cases Friday

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin added 2,745 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to new data from the state Department of Health Services (DHS).

The new numbers come on the heels of President Donald Trump confirming he has coronavirus and his campaign canceling his weekend visit to Green Bay. Brown County had 10,022 confirmed cases on Friday, according to DHS.

Friday also marked the fourth day in a row that the number of new cases reported in a single day in Wisconsin stayed above 2,000.

This brings Wisconsin's total confirmed case count to 127,906, with 81% of those cases listed as recovered. There are currently 23,005 active cases in the state.

Wisconsin DHS reported five more deaths related to coronavirus in the state on Friday.
