GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Following approval from national and state health officials, Brown County Public Health (BCPH) announced Thursday that children ages 5-11 are now eligible to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech (Pfizer) COVID-19 vaccine.

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses, 21 days apart for full protection, and this is the first and only vaccine available for this age group, Brown County Public health said.

“After everything our kids have been through during this pandemic, we are happy to be able to offer the vaccine to this age group to protect them against the virus,” said Brown County Public Health Officer Anna Destree. “Especially with the holiday season upon us, now is the perfect time to get your kids vaccinated so they can do the things they love while also staying safe and healthy.”

BCPH will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 5-18 on Tuesday, November 16th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Neville Museum in downtown Green Bay: 210 Museum Place Green Bay, WI 54303.

Parents and guardians can also schedule a vaccination using a variety of options including with their primary care doctor, at a community-based clinic such as N.E.W. Community Clinic, or through a local pharmacy.
