BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Brown County is expanding coronavirus testing to all residents.

In an online news conference, Brown County officials provided a new update Tuesday on coronavirus in the county.

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach said the county has been authorized and are able to extend the test sites through May 22 and are able to test all Brown County residents, even if they are asymptomatic. Streckenbach encourages people to get out and get tested. The community-wide testing is free and starts Wednesday.

County health officials said 1,845 people have been tested at community testing sites at both the Resch Center and Casa Alba. Click here to learn more about testing in Brown County.

The county now has 1,959 cases of coronavirus. The Oneida Nation is reporting 22 cases.

42 people have been hospitalized due to the virus. 347 people are out of isolation, meaning they no longer pose a threat of spreading the virus.

Two more people have died, bringing the total death count to 20.

Also mentioned during the news conference, the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce has developed a Greater Green Bay small businesses fund, which has raised over $250,000 for small businesses. Applications are now open for small businesses to ask for money from that fund; more information can be found at this site. The Chamber is also developing a resource team of small businesses to help people transition back to re-opening.

Brown County has been a hot spot for coronavirus cases in Wisconsin, with reported outbreaks at local meat packing facilities.
