APPLETON (NBC 26) — The Appleton Health Department said they received notice Sunday of an Appleton resident dying from COVID-19, bringing the city's total to three deaths.
According to the health officials, the person was in their 80's.
This report comes after the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) released current coronavirus numbers showing no reported deaths as of Sunday afternoon.
Appleton Health Department said five more people have tested positive for COVID-19. They said 41 people are currently in isolation and 22 people have since recovered from the virus.
The five new cases reported are from the Outagamie County portion of the city, according to Appleton health officials.
The Health Department is asking people to follow guidelines from the DHS and CDC to help slow the spread of the virus.
