Two suspects are in custody, with one facing multiple counts of car theft, after Brown County deputies and police officers from Ashwaubenon and Green Bay recovered 12 stolen vehicles after a joint investigation.

The two men are brothers, one from De Pere and the other from Pound. They appeared in court today for a probable cause hearing.

NBC26 is choosing not to release the suspects' names until they are charged.

The 44-year-old man and his 32-year-old brother allegedly stole cars from dealership lots in Brown County. According to the probable cause statement, the older brother told police he stole the cars to impress his son, who admires criminals.

Police allegedly found the older brother's fingerprints in one of the stolen cars.

Court documents say police also found drugs and drug paraphernalia in a hotel room the brothers were renting.

The judge did find probable cause that the men committed the alleged crimes, however only the older brother faces potential charges of car theft.

Both men are being held on a $5,000 cash bond. They cannot be in contact with each other. They will be back in court next week.

In addition to the 12 vehicles recovered by officers, one stolen vehicle remains missing: a 2013 Ford F-150, like the one shown above. Anyone with information should call Ashwaubenon Public Safety, Green Bay Police or The Brown County Sheriff's Department.
