Survivors of the Parkland, Florida school shooting are receiving a gift from students and staff at Appleton West High School.
They donated 135 Starbucks gift cards to other world history advanced placement students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to help them study for their challenging A.P. tests. The tests became even more challenging for the Parkland students, because they couldn't attend classes for two weeks to prepare.
"It's a lot of content in the A.P. world, so we thought they're missing school from being out from the shooting, so if we do something like give them a gift card so they can go study at Starbucks, it's something tangible," said Appleton West High School World History Teacher Stephanie Gorges.
"We want to be here for them and give them all the support we can, because what happened is really tragic," Sophomore Katie Sartori said.
The Appleton West students also wrote the Parkland A.P. students a card to show their support.
