The City of Appleton revealed it's design for the Fox Cities Exhibition Center. The 30,000 square foot space will be integrated with Jones Park. The signature element is the 82 foot tall tower with led lights. It's symbolic of the nations first hydroelectric power plant station located on the Fox River. "It's a building that takes into consideration it's very location. Integrating into a park creating outdoor space as well as indoor space and that sense that it belongs there," said Mayor Tim Hanna.
The Expo center will be owned by the City of Appleton but operated by the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel. The cost of construction is being funded by a 3 percent hotel room tax in 10 area municipalities.
