29th annual MASH Blood Drive held in Appleton

Posted

Houdini Plaza transformed into a military hospital Tuesday for the 29th annual MASH Blood Drive.

The drive is modeled after the hit 1970s television show.

Hundreds rolled up their sleeves to help replenish the blood supply.

"Blood donations typically go down in the summer and especially around the holidays, so this blood drive happens every year just before the Fourth of July holiday to ensure that patients in our community have the blood products that they need," said Kristine Belanger, VP of Donor Services for Community Blood Center.

The Community Blood Center put on Tuesday's drive. Donors got a free t-shirt and the Post 30 Amvets in Greenville received a monetary donation for every donor.
