Celebrate International Red Panda Day with the NEW Zoo

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Celebrate International Red Pand Day at the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park on September 17 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The Green Bay Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) will be hosting this free event with the purchase of Zoo admission.

Visitors can learn more about red pandas at the red panda habitat, a schedule of events is below.

  • 10:00 a.m. Training Demo
  • 11:00 a.m. Keeper Chat
  • 12:00 p.m. Enrichment Demo
  • 2:15 p.m. Feeding Demo

In addition to the scheduled events, there will be animal-themed crafts for sale, some of which have been made by red pandas themselves.

All proceeds raised at the sales table will benefit the Red Panda Network. According to the network, as few as 2,500 red pandas remain in the wild, meaning they are an endangered species.

Those wanting to help support red pandas, but are unable to attend red panda day, can do so on September 20 at Noodles & Company in Suamico. From 4:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. Noodles will donate 25% of sales to the Red Panda Network when you mention Green Bay AAZK in person or use the code GIVING25 on online orders.

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park has current operating hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
