The Xavier High School boy's basketball team is headed to state.
Led by one of the area's best players in Alex Sherwood, the Hawks and the sophomore forward are ready to compete for a state title.
"The biggest stage in high school sports is going to state. A little bit of that is in my head too. I'm just super pumped, I'm really excited. Hope we take advantage of this awesome opportunity and come out with two wins," Sherwood said.
The Hawks will take on undefeated Onalaska, on Saturday at 9:05am at the La Crosse Center.
Ahead of their trip to state, Sherwood went head to head with NBC 26's Chancellor Johnson for a friendly twist on the game of "Horse."
