Wisconsin reports less than 2,000 COVID-19 cases, over 100 deaths

WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — Saturday, Wisconsin health officials reported 128 more deaths related to COVID-19, the highest number of deaths recorded in a single day. This brings the state total to almost 5,500 people to have died in relation to the virus.

The state Department of Health Services (DHS) said 1,937 out of just over 7,000 coronavirus tests returned positive Saturday. Approximately 26,823 cases are still active across Wisconsin.

According to the DHS, the seven-day average for positive cases by person is 25% as of Friday's numbers. This percentage only includes each person once across the duration of the pandemic, no matter how many times an individual gets tested.

Hospitalizations increased by 103 for a total of 23,026 people in the state to ever be hospitalized with the virus.
