Brewers stars Jonathan Villar and Ryan Braun are anxious to get back up to the big leagues, but their rehab stints couldn't come at a better time for the Timber Rattlers.
The single-A affiliate of the Brewers sits in last place in the Midwest League standings but T-Rats head coach Matt Erickson says his players are excited about the chance to learn from Braun and Villar.
"Whenever you get a major league rehab down to Appleton, our guys pay attention," Erickson said. They sat right there in the club house and mingled with our guys. They just became one of the boys."
Braun and Villar are scheduled to play for the Timber Rattlers through Sunday. If ready, they will rejoin the Brewers in Cincinatti on Tuesday.
