20 people were arrested during an undercover prostitution investigation in Oshkosh, police said Tuesday.
The police department Vice and Narcotics Unit handled the investigation over a three day period.
Six women and one man are in custody for prostitution, police said.
According to police, one of the women arrested had brought her three-month-old child to the location where she was arrested. Child Protective Services was contacted and as a result, the child was turned over to a relative.
Those arrested for prostitution were from Milwaukee. One of the women was also arrested for possession of an electric weapon.
Police say 13 male ‘johns’ were arrested for solicitation of sex. These men were from Oshkosh, Appleton, Larsen, Eldorado, Milwaukee, Kaukauna, Rubicon, Bear Creek and Neenah.
There was also one man from San Bruno, CA arrested in the investigation. In addition, one of the men was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and several drug arrests were made as a result of the three day investigation. Two of the men went to jail and the remainder had referral arrests made on them to the Winnebago County DA’s Office.
The Oshkosh Police Department Vice and Narcotics Unit said they plan to conduct these investigations in the future.
