As powerful storms moved into Fond du Lac Friday night, Walleye Weekend organizers and volunteers said they were terrified.
"We knew something was coming, and it came quickly," said Leanne Doyle, Executive Director of Fond du Lac Festivals.
Strong winds damaged tents, scattered debris, and even uprooted a tree on the grounds of the popular festival.
"One of our high top bars was found on the lakeshore, broken to pieces," said Harry Schneider, a volunteer.
Schneider was volunteering in the tent right next to where the tree fell over.
"There was an awful lot of scared people in that tent," said Schneider. "In fact I can recall one young lady, all I can remember her saying is, 'Mom, take me home.'"
The festival continued Saturday, however, with no sign of storm damage besides the fallen tree. Volunteers and park employees were up as early as 5 a.m. cleaning up Lakeshore Park where the festival takes place.
"Everybody was out here picking up," said Doyle.
No one was hurt, Doyle said.
The free festival continues Sunday with the conclusion of the 38th annual Mercury Marine Walleye Tournament.
