The Billy Joel concert on Saturday is creating a lot of excitement in Green Bay. However, nervousness may also be a factor after the attack that recently occurred at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.

More than 40,000 people are expected to pack the stadium before Billy Joel takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday. Safety measures are much like that of a Packers game. NBC26’s Regina Ahn spoke with the Green Bay police department to get details on what safety preparations are taking place.

Police officers will be stationed at each entrance gate with metal detectors, and extra patrols will present inside and outside the venue. An increased presence of both street patrol and foot officers from a variety of Brown County law enforcement agencies, as well as the FBI, will be patrolling the Lambeau Field area.

Attendees are reminded that they can only bring a 12” x 6” x 12” clear bag inside the stadium, and regardless of the weather conditions, umbrellas are not allowed inside the stadium. Officials remind concert-goers to relax and have fun but also be aware of your surroundings. If you see something outside the norm, say something to a nearby officer.
