A rollover crash involving a milk tanker spilled 500 gallons of raw milk and closed STH 29 in Kewaunee County for several hours Monday.

Just after 6 a.m., the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department responded to a one vehicle rollover on STH 29 east of CTH AB in Montpelier.

Deputies found a semi tractor pulling a milk tanker had left the roadway and the driver was still in the cab, the sheriff's office said.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Kewaunee, was pulled from the cab and brought to a Green Bay medical facility with minor injuries.

500 gallons of raw milk spilled into the ditch after the crash. The majority of the milk was able to be transferred to another tanker, deputies said.

Kewaunee County Emergency Management and the Department of Natural Resources Spill Coordinator was contacted because of the spill.

STH 29 was closed until 10:45 a.m. The crash is under investigation.
