The remains of an adult have been found after a fire in a Plymouth apartment building early Thursday morning.
A 46-year-old woman was unaccounted for after the fire. Police said they have not confirmed if her body was the one found inside the building.
The fire was reported just before 1 a.m. at an apartment building on Mill Street in the downtown area of the Sheboygan County city.
Fire officials said the missing woman ran back into the building to look for her children. However, her three children had already made it out safely.
It's not clear how many people were displaced by the fire. Residents were being housed at a nearby inn.

Two people were treated for minor injuries a the scene and took themselves to the hospital.
22 fire departments assisted in putting out the fire.
The fire is now under control, but crews are investigating the possible source of the fire.
