Shots were fired in Manitowoc Sunday afternoon after two women allegedly got into a heated argument over a man.
On July 23 around 3:30 p.m., Manitowoc Police were called to the 5300 block of Calumet Ave for a disturbance.
A 26-year-old Manitowoc woman was allegedly assaulted by a 29-year-old Manitowoc woman, police said.
The two were arguing over a man, according to officers. The 29-year-old allegedly punched the other woman repeatedly and caused serious injuries.
During the assault, the 26-year-old grabbed a 9mm handgun and shot a round into the air then fled, police said. She was picked up by a friend.
The 29-year-old was held at the Manitowoc County Jail, on a charge of battery.
The victim was not charged for firing her gun, as officers said she was acting in self defense.
