A 29-year-old man was arrested in Oshkosh Wednesday after police discovered explosives inside an apartment he had ties too.

Oshkosh Police responded to a harassment call in the 200 block of N. Westhaven Drive around 8 p.m. Wednesday night. Officers were advised about possible explosives inside an apartment.

A search warrant was obtained by police. A 29-year-old Oshkosh man was arrested for possession of explosives and is in Winnebago County jail. The Brown County bomb squad was called and took control of several items for evidence.

In an apartment complex, I mean it could be very, very dangerous," said Officer Joe Nichols with Oshkosh Police. "Something sets that off or a fire occurs, you came it, it could have been serious."

The man's name is not being released yet because he hasn't been charged, police said.

The Oshkosh Police Department along with the FBI are continuing the investigation.

Neighbors said this is a scary situation.

"In Oshkosh, Wisconsin, no less," said Terri Bowman of Oshkosh. "Retirees, young people, growing families. It makes me sick."

If you have information in regards to this complaint, we encourage you to contact the Oshkosh Police Department and ask to speak with Detective Dean Artus at (920) 236-5726.
