A 24-year-old Sobieski woman has died after the car she was driving in went into the water at the Sister Bay Marina Saturday night, according to the Door County Sheriff's Office.

Just before 10 p.m., the sheriff's office responded to a car that had driven into the water at the Sister Bay Marina.

Deputies found a white Hyundai 4-door submerged near the boat launch.

One conscious woman was rescued from the water and told deputies there was another woman in the car, deputies said.

Paramedics from Door County Emergency Services dove into the water and made two attempts to find the second victim, but water temperature affected their search.

The Door County Dive Team arrived at the scene and found the second victim, bringing her to shore, the sheriff's office said.

Both victims were brought to the Door County Medical Center. The second victim, a 24-year-old Sobieski woman, was pronounced dead at Door County Medical Center.

The other victim, a 24-year-old De Pere woman, was treated for her injuries at the hospital, the sheriff's office said.

The incident is still under investigation. Deputies have not said what caused the car to drive into the water.
