One person is dead after a car fire in the City of New London Saturday morning.
According to New London Police officers, the fire began just after 9:30 a.m. near Henry Street, east of N. Shawano St.
When police got there, they say they found an SUV fully engulfed in flames. An officer tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher when he saw someone was inside.
The New London Fire Department arrived and put the fire out.
Police have not yet identified the body. They say a coroner will perform an autopsy on Monday.
The incident is still under investigation.
