No injuries in tire recycling plant fire

Posted

Fire crews quickly put out a fire at a tire recycling plant Saturday morning.

The Green Bay Fire Department was called out to 1330 Tomlin Street at 1:38 a.m.

Crews say there was a lot of smoke when they arrived.

The fire was in tire shredder hopper at Bay Enviro Tire Inc. Mostly tire waste was burning.

It only took 30 minutes to put the fire out.

The manager on scene thought they'd be able to open for business as usual.

No one was hurt.

The fire is still under investigation.
