No animals hurt in Brown County barn fire

Posted

Firefighters were called out to a barn fire in the Town of Morrison Wednesday night.

Crews were on scene around 11:45 p.m. and smoke and flames could be seen coming from the barn.

Fire Chief Joe Daul says that cows inside the barn were able to escape. Firefighters don’t believe any animals were injured.

The bitter cold temperatures did pose a challenge, but firefighters were prepared.

“As long as we keep the water flowing we’re alright. The water has been at the station so it’s fairly warm as long as we keep it flowing so the pumps don’t freeze,” said Chief Daul.

Firefighters say the fire was contained within minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
