Three tornadoes were reported Wednesday afternoon in Shawano County, according to the National Weather Service.
One was five miles southeast of the Navarino Wildlife Area at 3:43 p.m. Another was one mile south of Frazer Corners at 3:52 p.m.
Finally, a very brief tornado touched down two miles east/northeast of Gresham.
The storms and tornadoes caused structural damage to homes, road blockages and downed power lines, according to Shawano County Emergency Management Director Natalie Easterday. The storm tracked northeast through the towns of Lessor, Maple Grove, and Angelica, she said.
Law Enforcement and Emergency Responders from multiple volunteer agencies are currently assessing damage and moving from home to home to check for injuries, Easterday explained.
The public is being asked to avoid roads in Eastern Shawano County because of hazardous conditions due to heavy rain.
A temporary reception center was set up in the Town of Lessor Town Hall for any displaced residents. Anyone in need of help can go to the Town Hall at W4055 Landstad Road.
