At about 6:41 p.m. Monday, the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department received a call from two hikers who found a body in the woods at the Brillion Nature Center off Highway PP in the town of Brillion. Deputies found a 28-year-old man deceased and lying in a wooded area about a quarter mile from the roadway near a walking trail.
Sheriff’s department investigators processed the scene and conducted numerous interviews. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday by the Fond du lac County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The death does not appear to be suspicious, according to the sheriff's department. The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of relatives.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by Brillion Police Department, Brillion Fire Department, Potter Fire Department and the Calumet County Medical Examiner’s Office.
