DODGE CO. (NBC 26) — Deputies say a car ran off the road and through a fence before crashing into a shipping container 11 A.M. Saturday.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened in the Township of Hustisford near the intersection of CTH E and STH 60.
According to the Sheriff's Office, an initial investigation indicates the car was southbound on CTH E when it left the roadway. The car continued through ditches and over a driveway before crossing over STH 60. The car then crashed through a fence at LKQ Smart Parts and came to a stop after striking a storage container on the property.
First responders say they found the driver unresponsive and attempted life-saving measures. The driver died at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Witnesses say it looked like the driver may have had a medical episode during the crash.
Dodge Co. Sheriff's Office says the crash remains under investigation. It has not been determined if the death was the result of injuries or due to another medical problem.
The driver's name will not be released until family members are notified.
