Neighbors in Ledgeview have won their fight to stop a farm on Dickinson Road from building a 15-million gallon manure pit near their homes.
In a 4-1 vote Tuesday, the town board passed an ordinance requiring the proposed pit and any other manure storage areas to be at least a quarter mile away from neighboring properties.
Neighbors had voiced concerns, saying they feared the manure pit would harm their health and their property values.
