Gov. Walker responds to abortion clinic closure

Posted

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker says he is supportive of the closure of Grand Chute's Planned Parenthood clinic where abortions were performed.

Walker, citing his pro-life record, says it reflects on Wisconsinites, saying "Even those who don't share my belief have talked about how they want abortions to be rare, and that's what has happened in the State of Wisconsin. I think that's probably more a reflection on the decision they made."

Planned Parenthood says it closed the Grand Chute clinic due to security concerns.

In a statement released today, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin says, "We call on Governor Walker and his allies to end the dangerous policies and hateful rhetoric targeting women's health providers, and to prioritize enhancing women's health care access."
