A nursing facility was evacuated in Fond du Lac after a police vehicle caught on fire Thursday afternoon.
Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to the vehicle fire outside Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation at 459 E First Street just before 2:40 p.m.
Crews found a police SUV fully engulfed in flames, according to Troy Haase, Division Chief of Fire Prevention.

Because the SUV was close to the building, patients and staff were evacuated.
Crews quickly put out the fire, but it caused heavy damage to the vehicle.
There was no damage to the building and no injuries.
The fire was not suspicious and appeared to be mechanical, Haase said.
