Around 4 PM today, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue was called to Breister Avenue for reports of an explosion and fire.
Fire crews found a small fire at the home which they were able to extinguish quickly. The home was filling with smoke and fire crews found the source of that fire in the basement, mostly contained to the sump pump area.
No one was home at the time of the fire, there were no injuries.
The cause is still under investigation.
