Crews battle fire at meat packaging plant in Green Bay

Crews battled a fire at a large meat packaging plant in Green Bay. 

They were called to the scene around 3 a.m. Saturday at JBS Beef Plant at the 1300 block of Lime Kiln Road. 

When firefighters arrived they found smoke and flames. 

Fire said the fire started in the ductwork in the rendering side of the plant. 

The fire was contained to the ductwork but crews had to search for multiple hotspots throughout the morning. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

No one was injured. 

The scene was cleared around 6:30 a.m.

Plant personnel is working on getting the plant back up and running after the fire.
