No one was hurt as Fond du Lac Fire Rescue crews battled a car fire that destroyed a garage Tuesday evening. The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. at 466 W. Division. When crews arrived, they say the car was fully engulfed in flames.
The car fire spread to the 2-story garage.
Fire crews were slowed down by multiple power lines which ran in the rear of the alleyway. Alliant Energy was called to the scene to secure power to the area. Some area residents were impacted with the loss of power while fire crews worked to put the fire out.
There were no residents home at the time of the fire. Fire crews were able to keep the fire contained to the garage and kept the fire from spreading to nearby garages and homes. The cause of the fire is under investigation by police and fire investigators.
