An Oshkosh man accused of abusing his infant daughter reached a plea agreement Wednesday.

Richard Root, 21, pleaded no contest in Winnebago County court and was found guilty.

In March, Root took his then two-month-old daughter to Aurora Hospital, according to the criminal complaint.

She had at least 20 broken bones, including nine broken ribs, and multiple brain bleeds, police said.

The infant was taken to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, court documents said.

Root took a plea deal for a reduced charge of neglecting a child. He was originally charged with child abuse, recklessly causing great harm.

He will be back in court for sentencing on October 20.
