The driver of the SUV involved in a Feb. 19 crash at Packerland and Oakwood drive in Green Bay, Daniel R. Boucher, 27 of Green Bay, pled not guilty to two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of motor vehicle; two counts of operating a motor vehicle while revoked, causing death; one count of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle and one count of operating a motor vehicle while revoked causing great bodily harm.
Boucher appeared in court on Tuesday morning.
According to the criminal complaint, Boucher told police "I know I'm too drunk to drive. I know better. I'm not stupid."
The crash killed James C. Rush, 52 and his wife, Wendy L. Rush, 47, both of Hobart.
According to police, the Rush vehicle was traveling northbound on Packerland Drive and was struck by Boucher's SUV traveling westbound on Oakwood Drive at about 9:40 p.m. Feb. 19. The Rush couple died at the scene.
Boucher's next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 11.
