Air shows draw biggest crowds at EAA AirVenture

More than 500,000 people are expected to descend on Oshkosh during EAA AirVenture. While there are hundreds of things to do on-site, the daily air shows that last for hours usually draw the largest crowds.

Every day at AirVenture, there is at least one 3.5 hour air show starting at 2:30 p.m. Dozens of planes, some dating back to World War II, take part in these daily shows.

AirVenture is one of the world's most extravagant air shows. Most who make it out to Oshkosh are well aware that it's a once-in-a-liftime experience.

"During the show you get the CNXE bit of war birds flying, that is a gathering you can't find anywhere else in the world," said Harvey "Boss" Meek, part of the Phillips 66 Aerostars performers.

On many people's lists of shows to take in this week is the Navy Blue Angels. They will fly Friday and Saturday.

One other show of interest coming Wednesday night: 16 B-25 bombers from World War II will take flight.
