A 15-year-old is dead after an accidental shooting, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say the incident happened just before 1:00 p.m. Wednesday on Rieben Road in the Town of Farmington.
Deputies determined a 15-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder with a .22 caliber firearm. During a 911 call, the communications center gave lifesaving instructions to those at the scene.
Officers with the Waupaca Police Department, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, and Gold Cross Ambulance continued advanced life saving measures when they arrived at the home.
The boy died before being taken to the hospital.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office believes the shooting is accidental and is still under investigation.
