GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — The body of 22-year-old Ivonne Benitez of Bellevue was found in the East River in Green Bay, according to her father.

- She had been missing since April 12th.
Family members said they had been working with the Brown County Sheriff's Office to search for her around the East River area.
Benitez's father also says her body was found Saturday morning, and that he was in Mexico when he received the news that his daughter was missing. He flew back to Wisconsin to join other family members, friends, and volunteers in the search.
In a Sunday news release, Green Bay Police said the body of an adult woman was pulled from the East River on Saturday, but police did not identify the woman, pending positive identification from the Brown County Office of the Medical Examiner.
GBPD and the Brown County Sheriff's Office are investigating, and the "circumstances of the death are to be determined," the news release said.
The family has also asked for privacy as they mourn the loss of Ivonne.
